Hutton Hall is a late-medieval stone fortified tower house, founded by William de Strickland. Of four storeys and square in plan, it was altered when integrated with an 18th century mansion house. The tower still retains its small windows but has lost its battlemented roof and parapet. In the centre of town is the Church of St Andrew and 2 miles south-east is Brougham Castle.
Hutton Hall is located in Penrith, off Benson Row and Friargate. 21 miles south of Carlisle, on the M6-A592.
The site is private and the view from the road is restricted.
